THE GROUP

A French group. A global ambition.

Zakala brings different projects together around one discipline: reducing uncertainty before the decision, keeping what has been invented at the centre, and committing to the next stage only after clear evidence.

The Group in two minutes

FOUNDER'S CONVICTION

I am not building every activity at the same time.

I am building the standard that decides which ones deserve to become companies. A vision opens a possibility. A mission produces evidence. Governance decides whether that evidence deserves more time, capital and responsibility.

Alexis ZAH BI — Founder and President, Zakala Group

ARCHITECTURE

One function at each level. No confusion of roles.

  1. LEVEL 1

    ZAKALA GROUP

govern the portfolio, arbitrate priorities, allocate resources and host Group-level decisions.

  2. LEVEL 2

    ZAKALA INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

organise intellectual property, documentation, licences and the continuity of assets.

  3. LEVEL 3

    ENGINES, OFFERINGS AND PROJECTS

solve a problem, meet a customer, produce evidence and justify activation.

Govern · Protect · Operate

GOVERNANCE

Six rules. Non-negotiable.

  1. 01

    ONE GROUP HEAD

Portfolio decisions return to a single governance structure.

  2. 02

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY REMAINS AT THE CENTRE

An operator uses an asset; it must not take away what the Group has built.

  3. 03

    ONE REGULATION, ONE RESPONSIBILITY

Activities subject to different risks or regulation are not merged.

  4. 04

    CREATE AT ACTIVATION

A project becomes an operating structure only when it meets real contracts, customers or operations.

  5. 05

CAPITAL ENTERS AT THE RIGHT LEVEL

Investors primarily enter at the level of operating activities. Group-level rounds are hosted at the top of the structure.

  6. 06

    ONE STRUCTURE PER ACTIVATED VERTICAL

No legal multiplication without a risk, regulation, financing or commercial autonomy that justifies it.

ALLOCATION

Enthusiasm opens a door. Evidence decides whether it stays open.

  • — Is the problem observed?
  • — Who pays, and from which budget?
  • — Why now?
  • — What evidence of demand exists?
  • — What value can be measured?
  • — Can the same asset serve several customers?
  • — What do we actually own?
  • — What capital remains to be committed?
  • — When will the next proof arrive?

A weak answer does not always condemn a project. It simply prevents more resources being committed before the missing knowledge has been obtained.

THE FOUNDER

Ten years governing programmes before governing a portfolio.

Before Zakala, Alexis ZAH BI worked on programme portfolios at BNP Paribas and then Orange France. He learnt a simple discipline: a budget is not evidence, a schedule is not a result, and a project deserves to continue only while its decisions remain clear. Zakala applies that discipline to products, markets and the teams expected to carry them.

ROOTS

Build in France. Prove against the need. Extend after validation.

France concentrates engineering, intellectual property and innovation-funding programmes. Côte d'Ivoire opens an activation ground for pilots, partnerships and regional operations. The world comes next, when evidence can travel without losing its quality.
